What I have realized in my fitness journey, is that The hardest part about changing your lifestyle into a healthier life style is STARTING... Just starting a clean eating habit and sticking to it for three months until you finally have made it a forever life change, is the hardest part. Kind of like how they tell you marriage works "if you can make it through the first couple of years, than the hard part is over" we have all heard that one right? Well, it's the same thing with eating but they say it takes your body three months of doing something then the hard part is over. And it's true. Think of a life long change as your going through those hard months and it will ALL be worth it.
When I was first diagnosed with diabetes I had to change a lot of my bad eating habits. My mother never kept junk food or pop in the house but when I would go to school events, church parties, birthday parties, Etc, I would stuff my face with anything that looked delicious....So the party fun had to go out the door a bit. But I still aloud myself some freedom. I cut out hardcore sugar but still ate pizza, white bread, pasta, and carb full foods if I wanted to. When I saw ice cream I would eat it. And I cut out pop but not diet pop. I mean it has no sugar right so it's good for you..????
Wrong I was still sick often and never had energy. After becoming a mommy of two, working three jobs, and a traveling wife with a rodeo husband, I decided to make a severe change in my body so I can always feel balanced and energized.
